Why agents need someone behind them
AI agents now buy things for people: API calls, data, tickets, services. When a request arrives, the seller sees software, not a person. They cannot tell who is behind the agent, or whether they will be paid. Most say no, or ask for payment up front every time.
A Bond answers those questions before the seller says yes.
What a Bond shows
- A verified owner. The owner confirms who they are with our ID partner. Sellers see a label such as “Verified person”. They never see documents or ID numbers.
- A record anyone can check. Every payment leaves a receipt. Anyone can look one up on Check a receipt.
- Money on hand. The owner backs the agent with USDC in their own wallet. Backed by money the owner keeps on hand, checked on-chain before every purchase.
- Limits the owner sets. A limit per purchase and per day. A new seller, or a larger amount, goes to the owner to approve first.
Pay later, and Unpaid claims
With a verified owner and real money behind it, a seller can let a Bonded agent pay later, up to an amount the seller picks. If the agent has not paid by the due date, the seller files an Unpaid claim. The owner has 72 hours to pay or explain. If the claim stands, it is settled from the Bond under the Bond terms.
